BuckSmart ("we", "us") operates the BuckSmart web application. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

Account data you provide (email, name, password hash). Map and hunting data you create (property boundaries, habitats, stands, trails, sightings, trail-camera photos, notes, and model settings). Billing metadata from Stripe (customer and subscription IDs, plan status)—we do not store full card numbers. Technical logs such as IP address, device or browser type, and error diagnostics when monitoring tools are enabled.

How we use it

We use this information to authenticate you, store and render your maps and forecasts, process subscriptions, improve reliability and security, and respond to support requests. Authorized staff may access account and map data (including trail-camera photos) on a need-to-know basis to troubleshoot issues and improve product quality. Trail-camera photos and related labels may also be used to train and evaluate detection and forecast models that power BuckSmart features. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

Property data is private to your account unless you explicitly share a map with another BuckSmart user. We use processors such as hosting, database, payment (Stripe), email, object storage, and optional analytics or error monitoring providers, solely to run the service.

Your choices

You may delete trail-camera photos from a property, or delete your account from Settings. Contact us if you want help removing data used for model improvement after deletion, subject to ordinary backup cycles and legal retention needs.

Retention & deletion

We retain account and map data while your account is active. You may delete your account from Settings; associated property data is removed subject to ordinary backup cycles. Contact us if you need help with a deletion request.
